Excellent Value, With Loads Of Features
4 of 4 found this helpful I bought this sat nav to use with my motorhome, as I wanted something I could enter my unit dimensions into, thereby avoiding low bridges etc. Internet reviews suggest this facility is patchy, at best, but I have yet to test this aspect fully.
I don't, normally, bother with detailed reviews, but I think, if you're spending less than 40 quid for something that some charge up to £300 for, it's good to know if it's any good or not.
On unboxing, it's apparent that this does not feel like a cheap product. It looks and feels like something costing far more. The instructions are pretty simple, and I had the whole thing set up in less than half an hour (and that's with me going through and customising pretty much ever aspect of the unit).
Prior to installation in the motorhome, and use for longer distances, I used this in one of my cars, and tested it locally. Whatever I entered (super markets, petrol stations, restaurants etc) it always found exactly what I was looking for. The speed camera database is spot on, and showed me all the commonly used mobile camera hot spots, as well as the standard fixed units.
The unit was responsive, spot on with positioning and road layouts, and, if I went off route, it corrected and re calculated in less than a second. The large display also makes this unit a pleasure to use. Talking of the display, that is the one thing that lets this sat nav down, just a little. Even on maximum brightness, it is just about adequate. The slightest bit of sun, and it becomes an audio only guide, cos you can forget viewing the screen.
The clip on sun screen is a little flimsy, and awkward to fit, but, once it's on, it's not going anywhere, and it does help a little, in making the screen usable.
This sat nav is as good a basic sat nav as any I have come across. It's ability to guide you on routes based on size of vehicle has come under question, and I'm not able to comment on that, but non of my other sat navs / apps can do that either, so, even if it isn't the best, I won't be losing sleep over it.
The screen looks good, and layouts are customisable, but it could do with being twice as bright as it actually is. My cab is quite dark, with the luton overhead, so I don't see this as ever being an issue, anyway, to be honest.
I've given this product a 5 star rating, because, for the money, you can't fault it, and professional driver I have spoken to advise me it's as good as sat navs they have used costing £300+, although I can't comment on that from personal experience. I'm, also, told this is the same sat nav unit as is fitted in current model Fiat Ducatos, but, again, I have no confirmation of that. What I can say is that it represents excellent value as a sub £40 unit, and I would have no hesitation in buying another one.

By far the best value full feature tracker I have found
1 of 1 found this helpful Product arrived, already set up and ready to go, so much so that I was able to track its journey from the supplier's to my local sorting office, before I had, even, received it.
Could not have been easier to install, and comes already set up (hence being able to track its delivery route). You just connect it to a permanent power source, and away you go. This is as simple or as complicated as you want to make it, governed only by how accessible your hiding place is, to run the power cables to.
Of course, no one device is infallible, but, for a pound a week, I have unlimited access to my motorhome's location, speed etc, so I can check, at any time, where it is. Coupled with the extensive physical and electronic security devices I have set up around it, it provides me with as much security as I could wish for, and I've not come across any tracker that provides anything like the level of information that this one does, for the money. Most cheaper models require you to text them, at which point they will text you back with their current location. Pretty unimpressive, compared to the GT3, which tells me, in real time, exactly where my vehicle is, and what it is doing, whenever I want to check it out and track it.
Already recommended to at least two friends, and I've only had it a couple of weeks, so far. Would have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone else who might be considering buying one.
