Pure Music
I owned one of these massive receivers back in the 1970s. Kept it for 0ver 10 years then decided to downsize so I sold it at a yard sale. I have regretted it ever since. For all the continuously emerging "state of the art" improvements in audio and A/v equipment between the 70s and today, nothing has ever come closer to offering me a sound that I can only call Pure Music. No gimmicks, no sleight of the digital hand, no fancy processing, just 160 WPC of pure stereo music in a form factor that can only be described as elegant, beautiful, and yes, massive. Even after all these years, you can still find the Kenwood KR 9600 in excellent, if not fully restored, condition. You will pay for it, but your ears will be rewarded. I regret that so many generations have passed since the day this quality product ruled the world, generations that only know music through their iPhone or mp3 player. New is not always better - this wonderful product from Kenwood proves that point in spades. If you can find a good one from a non-smoking home, single owner, dealer rating 100%, buy it and know what Pure Music is all about!
