Lovely Twister!

I like this vac! It's distinctive in design and has a useful detachable wand (so much better than kneeling on floor to detach hoses!). It is surprisingly quiet and smooth in action. Yes, a little bulky and no lightweight - but this doesn't matter much. Strong grab handles and clever tool onboard make this a pleasant machine to use. American-style lamps and twist steering add to the joys of the machine - it's efficient and sucks well with illuminated controls close to hand. One problem is that the UK AEG site does not list spares for this device and hasn't even a copy of its manual. This may make keeping the cleaner going a bit difficult. Why oh why AEG? All parts are available and listed on its sister site in the USA - so get your fingers out AEG/Electrolux UK. Can't even locate spares elsewhere - so dreading things going wrong! Apart from this longer term consideration, this is a lovely cleaner and inspires confidence in relation to apparent build quality.

Arty Cups with Plain Jane Saucers.

These cups come in two arty designs, unfortunately I received the numerical one rather than the abstract design in the photograph. Apparently, the Guzzini company developed a plexi-glass combination which could adhere to porcelain in the 1930s. The handles are in blue or green - ordered the blue and got green. The cups are reasonably balanced and light in weight - lovely to drink from. It's a tad unsettling to think that the plastic handles might come unstuck when lifting near boiling drinks to the lips - but presumably, this is unlikely since the process should have been tested over time. Fratelli-Guzzini's web site suggests their products are made in Italy, but the sets supplied have no indication of provenance whatsoever. The rounded profile of the handles might be more comfortable with a wider elliptical shape - being round means one is aware of the narrower pressure points when cups are full. Nicely sized cups with over large plain saucers means that design flare does not extend to the saucers - which can easily get mixed up with any other nondescript others. All in all good value and slightly unusual cups.
