All doubts blown away.

Being a big fan of the Morse and Lewis series' I approached this with some caution - was it going to be up to the standard of the earlier series or not, or would it tarnish the memory of those much-loved characters? No worries though, as from the Pilot I was hooked on Endeavour, which is a fine addition to the "Oxford" stable. If you have the same doubts I had, then don't worry, just try the Pilot here - I'm sure you'll be pleased you did. Highly recommended!
