3 of 3 found this helpful I bought this ac to go in semi truck and run off a generator. It replaced a 10,000 btu portable ac. This is 14000 btu but actually uses less energy. The reason for this is because a standard ac cools down to a set point then shuts off until it warms up again. This one uses what’s called an inverter compressor, which means once it reaches its set point it can slow down compressor and maintain temp more precisely. It’s running off Honda 2000 watt generator, and the old ac I would have to refill after about 5 hours on a 90 degree day, but this one will run on the same generator for over 10 hours.
