Big upgrade from 5 year old model
This is a replacement for our older Q-see DVR part that died after 5 years of 24/7 operation. Besides being $200 less than our old one, this is completely compatible with our old cameras, much sharper at 2560 X 1440 vs. 1080, broadcasts much smoother motion, and is quieter in operation. Definitely a 5 star product if you also have a 2560 x 1440 capable monitor to view it on.

Go for a Wide Dispersion Speaker for the center channel
Wide dispersion speaker is great for the center channel. Most of my home theater speakers are directional speakers, perfect for surround sound effects, but that directional center did not cover our seating area. The wide dispersion Revels made such a great difference. Dialogue is so much more clear.

Better detail than 720 cameras
Completes our set because a shorting original wire blew out one of our original cameras. Best to replace those original wires with new Cat5e wires before this happens to you.
