I live in Wales with my husband and a Greek cat. I love eBay, what an amazing place to find anything and everything. I will do my utmost to ensure a smooth sale and will bend over backwards to deal with any problems, in the unlikely event they arise. I look forward to doing business with you.

A Farewell To France by Noel Barber & A Flower That's Free by Sarah Harrison

Good story
To be honest, if you’ve read one Noel Barber story, you’ve read them all. The plot seems to repeat with the same storyline with just the names and places changed. Having said that, if this is your first venture into Barber-Land then this book is his best. I felt nostalgic, having read it a good 35-40 years ago. I saw it’s cover pop up somewhere and it brought back so many lovely memories if a place in my life and the people I loved who are no longer with is that I wanted to revisit those times in my mind and read the book again. I wasn’t disappointed.
The story begins leading up to WWII and is the story of a French chateau family and the fates that befall them once the Nazi occupation takes place. It is an engrossing story and you become invested in the characters.
I haven’t read The Flower That’s Free but price-wise it was cheaper to buy both books together. The Flower That’s Free is a sequel, but I bought the first book in the series, Flowers Of The Field, after reading a synopsis so will give them a go too.
