Sturdy and great value but let down by the paint layer
2 of 2 found this helpful I bought one of these scaffold towers to help me to replace a slate tile that had fallen off our roof. The tower reached up to our roofline easily and was straightforward and quick to assemble. The materials felt solid when clambering up and down, although the cross-braces did flex a little bit when I put my weight on them as they are a little bit thinner than the rest of the sections. The whole tower can be easily assembled by an individual and the delivery arrived on time as promised.
What lets this product down is the paint that has been applied to the steel. A noticeable amount of it had been scraped off during transit and there were even a few spots of rust in places that will need attention in the near future. After being assembled, used for a few hours and disassembled the amount of paint that had been scraped off was much more noticeable and red stains could be seen on the bottom of the boards I used. The paint even came off when i removed the cellotape holding my address label to the metal.
Overall I would say this is a great product. It's strong, great value for money, perfect for small DIY jobs and will save you hundreds if not thousands over the years compared with hiring scaffolding from a contractor.
