Stylish Social Noir A-Movie
This superb social-noir thriller is well worth watching; the fluent direction from Joseph Losey is as dramatic as the acting; only let down with over-lighting in the prison cells; I am sure it is Cleo Lane sinning in the soundtrack which gives the film a noir-cool style.
Notable performances are from Murray Melvin, as Antlers, who has such a magnetic presence; Stanley Baker is his usual rough-suave charismatic self and puts effete actors like Daniel Craig to shame.
