This is a good consumer friendly but well featured media player, which works reliably. It offers both local storage connectivity (over USB) and access to network storage locations via wired or wireless ethernet. It's a good media player alternative to say an Apple TV (which I also own). The benefit of this is that it natively supports DLNA / uPNP devices on the local network without a jailbreak. The User interface is nice to use, responsive and offers nice features such as iPlayer support, access to Netflix and other platforms. It might not be your cup of tea if you want something very customisable, but for the 98%+ of normal consumers this is probably a no brainer.
