Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z2 Digital Camera.
Bought this camera for its zoom and large lens glass area.
About the size of a compact camera with a good grip area and you can cradle it with your left hand. Also can use manual controls to suit the photographers style,or can be automatic or pictograph settings.
I would take some time to read the instructions, preferably when you are relaxed! You will find it easier to learn.Also you can try out the settings and delete any errors!
Flash has to be lifted for it to work.Flash button is easy to see and use as is the close up button. Both have several settings.
I would set the date as it tends to remind you all the time.
The close-up at 1cm is excellent with good quality results, as is the zoom.
Please be aware that you will need a tripod or a wall for support to avoid blurry at extreme zoom settings.Camera will warn you if there is a chance of camera shake so use flash.
All in all an excellent camera especially for close ups.
I wish you could see the photograph of my watch face close-up.
The zoom is useful too.
Remember that more megapixels does not mean better quality! You have to factor in the sensor [CCD] and the quality of the lens [and the photographer!].
This 4megapixel camera is good value and will enhance your photographs be you a novice or professional.

Do not pay more than £40/45.00 on Ebay unless there are lots of extras.

Canon EOS 500D
Bought this because it came with 18mmx55mm lens and a 55mmx250mm canon IS lens plus a few welcome extras.A sincere and honest seller.
As with all electronic goods these days you have an encyclopedic instruction book. However if you switch off your phone and relax with a cup of something and with the camera, go through the basic instructions first.If you have had EOS cameras before then it will be easier.
I would say from a personal point of view that an IS lens is not needed in most areas of photography.
All EOS lenses will fit and the camera has a red mark for EOS film lenses and a white one for Digital[Canon].
Please remember that because the sensor on digital cameras is smaller that the 35mm film sensor so you must multiply the lens mm by approx 1.6.
The on/off switch is recesses and quite large and difficult to alter accidentally.LCD screen is large and view finder good.
AS before there are a lot of menus.However if you relax and go through them with the instruction book you will be well rewarded. Again from my point of view tweaking the settings is for later. All you want to do is to take photographs!!
I would not get a 32gb sdhc card for two reasons only: 1], cost 2].cost both financially and what a lot of photographs to loose as well!
Get an 8gb [couple] or a few 4gb. Try class 6 but class 4 is fine. Be aware when purchasing these cards the class system and also must be SDHC if you do not want a long delay in in camera processing.
The camera is the right size I think and not too big and sits well in my hands [small] amd very comfortable.
You can leave the ISO [film speed] on auto or select 100/200/400/ up to I think 3200.Perhaps even more!
Another useful thing to know is that although it has 15m pixels you do not have to shoot at this level. You can have lower megapixels and the quality will be very good.. It is not really required to shoot at 15m and you will have more shots on your card. Shooting in RAW [All possible information gathered] .Allows more flexibility in photoshop or similar.
Price wise I think it is expensive. You can get excellent photographs from Dimage-Z2 [10x zoom] Again whatever turns you on.
Overall an excellent camera for the Canon enthusiast who wishes to go Digital SLR and wishes to use his/her EOS lenses . Be warned , Most Film flashguns will not work properly on this camera.
I suggest Nissin i622 which has excellent reviews and is £160.00 but can be found online at £99.99 with a 3 year guarantee.. The Metz Canon dedicated [digital] is around £70/90.00.
The EX flashguns for EOS cameras will work well but check this out online. One good site is ;
