Good

Good gloves, warm, testing them in New York on a Christmas trip. Only downside is that the lining has already ripped at the thumb knuckle which is a bit of a pain. Other than that, they are good. Also, no logo on the back of hand which is good.

Trial of non GoPro battery pack

I read a few reviews on this unit suggesting that this particular make and model were good for GoPro 3+ so decided to purchase. There are some other aftermarket batteries that are cheaper on eBay but I also read to steer well clear of them. Overheating and bulging are just some of the comments on other non branded battery. They come in a very small cardboard box which is obviously very compact. My parcel came from a seller who used Amazon for fulfilment so probably had these for sale on Amazon too. The batteries themselves are small and the charger is just a little bigger than a standard matchbox. This makes them very compact and easy to transport around as required. I unpacked them and tried one in the GoPro, initially for fit. The battery I tried was already part charged and the GoPro turned on no problem. A good start. The small dual charging unit has two lights on (red and green). I plugged in the cable (it’s a usb style so you will need a computer USB port or a relevant plug adapter) and both lights came on so assumed that means the batteries are charging. Noteably, there were no instructions included but it’s not really rocket science. I will need to keep an eye on the charge times to see if this has an auto stop (doubtful given the price) So, for now, these look like good value and are certainly hugely cheaper than an original GoPro battery and charger pack. I had already decided that these aftermarket batteries would be good as a backup really so the original battery will get most use regardless. One good thing that’s useful is that the mains usb cable for the battery pack is also the same as the gopro charger cable so no need for yet another lead (that I tend to lose anyway). I also think that this set up will be good for using in a car charging unit that has a USB port. Useful when travelling. Hopefully (they seem to be ok right now) these will do the job but time will tell in use.
