Regime of Terror
2 of 2 found this helpful As other reviewers have said, this DVD is a collection of other documentary work and original film clips. It's still well constructed and effectively tells the story of the Gestapo, albeit briefly and very thinly in some places. As a learning aid for the historians amongst us (especially the younger ones) it's a useful tool. For the more discerning connoisseur of Nazi History, there are much more detailed and colourful film transfers out there, as well as excellent documentaries from the seventies and eighties. Gestapo is short, to the point and easily digested; it also represents exceptional value for money.

The Unsinkable QE2
5 of 5 found this helpful The original was superb, this remastered version is better still. I found little touches of colour and texture that just weren't there on the original. Of course they were there......but now you can actually appreciate them. Sound engineers and producers must have a tough job sometimes with remastering a recording. It would be easy to overcook it. These guys for me, have got it just right; dynamic and colourful without losing any expressiveness. In fact, it really is better than the original.
The whole album was more like traditional Oldfield than the ones either side of it's release which seemed to have a sort of 'Pop' influence. Perhaps I should say more traditional Oldfield. Well that's for you the buyer and listener to decide. If you don't have a copy I would urge you to get one; if you have the original, buy a remastered version; you can hear the difference, and, I think you'll love it. Bon Voyage!

Dave Brubeck - Quiet As The Moon
2 of 2 found this helpful I bought this because I like Dave's kind of music. I wasn't disappointed. A wonderful melodic collection of pure jazz. They must have had a great deal of fun recording this one. The pure joy is obvious all the way through this CD. I suppose you could dub it a concept album; I don't suppose that many jazz groups have used the cartoon strip 'Peanuts' for their musical inspiration, but it works, boy does it work. Another innovation by the true master of the jazz piano, was the introduction of the 'cello, played by Matthew Brubeck (Dave's grandson). Coupled with the truly artistic flute of Bobby Militello, the resulting sounds are a dazzling reminder of the inventive Dave Brubeck's ability to continuously explore and delight. This isn't a good CD, it's a great CD. If you like Brubeck and you like jazz, you'll love this.
