Small, cheap, works perfectly.
5 of 5 found this helpful This pre-amp is beautifully simple, it operates on one 9v 'smoke alarm' type battery (supplied), has an on-off switch, is small and unobtrusive and works perfectly. My new Denon mini system doesn't have a phono input and without the pre-amp the old turntable's output was insufficient even with the volume up full, With the pre-amp it's as loud as the radio at the same volume setting.
The only minor criticism would be that to open the unit to put the battery in, I had to take the screws out of the lid, as the lid wouldn't open otherwise. Not really a problem, and it's really good value for money.
