Swallows and Amazons in the snow
The inimitable Mr. Ransome the well known Russian spy and dauntless sailor had a somewhat more famous sideline as one of the finest authors of children's books for grown ups.
I have finally destroyed my paperback copy (which I have had since 1965) and am delighted to be able to afford this gorgeous hardback version - with Ransome's original cover design.
There is little point in explaining the story as if you are unaware of it...IT IS TOO LATE!
But I have loved these books for over 50 years and am still reading and re-reading them.

Beautiful memorial for a tragic end
1 of 1 found this helpful This, the last ever Cranberries CD, recorded by the band from backing tracks made by Dolores before her tragic death is brilliant.
The band play their hearts out and the songs are very apt.

I had this on LP when it came out originally and hardly listened to it.
sounds better now after all those years.
