(1) - Race To Space - Ultimate Edition - Strategy-Based Educational Game!

A great combination of entertainment and education.

We bought this game as an add-on to our homeschooling activities and the kids already love it. The mission cards in the deluxe edition provide a good range of subjects, so that we can either focus on an area or two like maths and literacy skills, or combine all the topics to create a general knowledge effect. As a non-American, I was a little concerned that there might be a large number of cards that were not relevant to my children, however other than the Government cards and a few of the American History questions (everyone should know about Lincoln, and the Wright brothers!) we haven't needed to abandon any missions. The addition of blank cards means that we can replace those cards we *did* remove with similar questions on British or EU politics and history, to supplement the World History cards that were also included. The game itself is sturdy and attractive, easy to master, and fun to play. The only confusion in my house is concerning of the star-and-rocket decorated dice: currently we're using them for any "roll doubles" challenges, but the game rules don't seem to explain their purpose. We are very happy with this game and will certainly purchase any additional card-packs that may be released (foreign languages would be wonderful!)
