New version for better or worse
2 of 4 found this helpful The train is maid of plastic but has a quality feel. Previous version had a battery compartment in the tender and most importantly could take a 9.6V rc battery pack, which this version cannot. This new version has a battery compartment in the engine with a recommendation for alkaline batteries. The good thing is that there is no wire between tender and engine, the bad thing is that it seems to be designed for non rechargable batteries which is more than a little backwards. Another thing that feels cheapish is the cool led light. I can't understand why they didn't use a more realistic warm white led.
