Fiddly to get working, but incredibly good value and feature rich
1 of 1 found this helpful I was in the process of building my own home security system because I couldn't find the functionality that I wanted at a price I could afford. I abandoned that effort within an hour of receiving this camera.
It's a bit fiddly to get up and working as the Android App is a bit non-obvious, but after about 10 minutes I got it installed, connected it to the wireless network, upgraded the firmware and was looking at a near realtime feed on my tablet.
The panoramic viewpoint is excellent for capturing detail from a wild field of view and the ability to view the camera remotely from the internet with a good quality, near realtime video feed is fantastic.
The ability to talk over the speaker remotely is also incredibly useful, although the sound quality is a bit grainy and takes a few seconds from speaking to transmission it is a fantastic ability, essentially allowing you to challenge intruders or if used as a remote door bell, have a reasonable, but brief conversation with couriers and other visitors remotely.
Although most useful for security monitoring, it has the flexibility to be used in a variety of remote telepresence roles, provided a wireless signal is available.
Despite a certain clunkiness in the application, its well worth the money and contains features I would expect to pay much more for.

Great addition to the iPad
Solid manufacturing. Holds the iPad in place firmly with a "sticky" adjustable stand. Keyboard has nice touch and feedback with a punchy response.
Lack of a row of function keys and an escape key (command line entry, etc.) is a disappointment, but can live with it for the remaining price / performance.
Trackpad also performs well, in line with MacBook equivalent.
Cover attracts dirt and requires regular cleaning, but it's a minor complaint.

Excellent powerful laser pointer with heavy duty casing and battery recharger + battery
2 of 2 found this helpful This is an excellent and powerful laser which comes packaged with all of the necessary equipment for the safe use of laser technology (e.g. pointing out astronomical objects on an astronomy night which is my personal use).
The packaging is sturdy and includes a shaped foam insert to protect the laser pointer and recharger in storage and transit. The design supports repeated reuse without being damaged (no flimsy flaps or openings), solid pressed paper / cardboard.
The contents are 1 laser pointer, 1 recharger unit, 1 rechargeable battery (quite heavy duty and not a standard item from high street stores, but appropriate for its use here), 1 diffusion grid. See photo 1 for photo of package contents.
Charging unit came with manufacturers power adapter, not a UK standard 3-pin plug (or even European type), this was NOT a problem as I simply used a foreign-to-UK power adapter (1 of 2 shown in photo 2) which I purchased from the local market stall for £1. This should not dissuade you from purchasing this exceptional product.
When I inserted the battery into the charging unit (before putting it into the wall socket), the LED on the charger glowed a dim green. This is not a concern, simply residual power from the battery lighting the LED up. When plugged into the electrical socket using the foreign-to-UK adapter the LED turned a solid and vibrant red. When charging was complete it turned a solid green colour.
You should remove the recharger unit from the power socket when charging is complete to avoid overcharging / overheating (shown in photo 3 while charging).
When the laser pointer is in operation it emits a very intense beam which will highlight dust motes in the air along its path. The target is brilliantly illuminated and strong enough to leave spots on the retina, so as well as avoiding pointing the beam in the direction of people and animals you should avoid looking at the beam end point for any length of time (shown in photo 4 is the naked laser beam pointed against a non reflective internal wall)
This is a potentially hazardous product and should only be used by a responsible adult. Keep out of reach of children and I would advise storing the pointer and battery separately in different secured locations to prevent children getting their hands on it and blinding themselves or others.
The product comes with a screw in diffusion grid which provides a measure of safety from direct exposure to the naked laser beam, but again it should not be pointed in the direction of people or animals, but directly at the ground. As well as a safety measure the diffusion beam can be used as a light in an emergency, but I recommend that it is only used pointed at the ground to find your way out in darkness or through smoke in a building fire (shown in photo 5 is the laser pointer with diffusion grid screwed over the lens and pointed against a non reflective internal wall)
All in all an excellent product if used correctly (and safely) by a responsible adult.
