Worth buying if the original plate is losing its grip on life
Gives new life to a well used power tool - or allows usde of multiple heads for coarse/medium/fine etc.

Saved me £140 on dealer quoted replacement
Easy to fit and does the job. Given that I am fitting to a 14 year old Mondeo, I would hope that they will outlast the car. Ford main dealers had quoted £158 and £185 to replace these, so paying £13 for the parts and 20 mins to fit was a good decision. The only tricky parts of fitting were (a) finding a way to support the tailgate when the old strut was removed (as doing the job on my own) and (b) I needed a pry bar to gently ease off the old strut. Fitting the new units only takes a minute and there is even to Youtube video showing the job being done.
BTW, the new struts have a longer "barrel" than the originals and I initially worried that they would not fit, but I went for it and they do fit just fine.

Good replacement ready to use.
Good replacement ready to use. I could have bought a single section and then spent time remaking the pole assembly, but much easier to buy one ready to use. The old assembly can then be kept for spares.
