Replacement 4 button fob case for SAAB 93 95 9-3 9-5 remote key

Key fob not working

The item arrived as stated on 4th October. No instructions but looked straight forward, however it doesn't work. I can only assume this is because the original has hard plastic pads built into the rubber but there is nothing similar in the replacement and without instructions to explain the difference I don't want to start messing with it. Please advise.
