Perfect for Cyanogenmod, a free as in freedom Android.
I bought this phone as an affordable way to make myself a Cyanogenmod phone as per the Free Software Foundation Europe's 'Free your Android' initiative.
The phone was exactly as described by 'average condition.' Namely a few fine scuff marks around the power button. I had bought a gel case and a screen protector to hide any cosmetic imperfections as the seller recommends. However, although I am using them, the scuff marks were so fine they were hidden by natural skin oils from my fingers by using the phone.
The phone preforms excellently under Cyanogenmod 10.1 (Android Jelly Bean 4.2). It is much faster than the stock Samsung Android. True I don't have the apps Samsung lards into the phone on top of Android, but, I know from my previous smartphones I don't use those kind of apps.
I love Cyanogenmod's addition of FLAC (lossless audio) support and a graphic equaliser for all sound apps. It means I can compensate for effects of age and industrial noise on my hearing and listen to full CD quality music as the artist intended anywhere. A must for any Audiophile smartphone owner. A 32GB microSD I added to the phone provides room for a plentiful choice of music.
I've had three smartphones before this one. I had lost trust in phone manufacturers' ability to ensure basic software quality. Armed with Cyanogenmod this is the first one that hasn't had significant bugs. Plus of course, I'm saving the environment by using a secondhand phone. A great win at an affordable price.
