Lovely Blast from the 1980s Soap Scene
I loved this series back in the 1980s, and I thoroughly enjoyed re-watching the early episodes - with favourite characters like Julie Robinson and Daphne Lawrence. I've bought a second copy for my cousin's birthday - I think she'll enjoy a trip back to '80s Ramsay Street as much as I did!

Crossroads Spoof - Utter Genius!
2 of 2 found this helpful This spoof soap was based on the Crossroads saga (1964-1988) and was absolutely hilarious.
Were Miss Babs and Miss Berta based on Meg Richardson and Tish Hope? Was Trixie Trouble Iris Scott or Jill Richardson, or a touch of both? As for Mrs Overall, her role as charlady was clearly based on Amy Turtle, but weren't her mannerisms and clothes (right down to the eponymous overall!) the spitting image of Mavis Hooper's?
As Crossroads moved "up-market", Acorn Antiques followed suit, incorporating a leisure centre into the antiques shop (!) and vertical blinds into the opening credits.
Brilliant spoof. Miss Babs, Mr Clifford, Miss Berta, Mrs Overall, Derek the handyman and the mysterious Mr Kenneth, I salute you!
