  The bike arrived promptly, very well packed in a special bike box with plenty of padding and protection. Its condition was exactly as advertised: essentially new apart from some near-invisible scuffs in obscure spots. I'd love to know why such a good machine received so little use in its previous billet! I took it to a bike shop just for a check over, and it was given a clean bill of health; 'Whoever set this up knew what they were doing.' Thanks, Andy! Very satisfied; would recommend the seller
