Stud Socket Extractor Installer Remover Roller Type 4pc Metric /imperial 6-12mm

Top tool

Used this to remove studs on in an aluminium engine case. They were secured with threadlocker so had to heat to 150-200C. The usual lock nut approach did not work, but these were perfect. I extracted both 1/4” and 5/16” studs (it was an American engine) using the M6 and M8 extractors. Slight damage (flattening) to the stud threads, but that will clean up when I run a die down them. Lesson learned - if you want to extract studs, use a stud extractor, simples !
