A disappointment
I loved some of Tony McPhee's earlier blues excursions. His Groundhogs stuff wwas pretty good too, but this recent release was a great disappointment to me. It sounds under-rehearsed, and lacking any real excitement. The title track is quite novel, and made a good start to the CD, but I was begging for it to end long before it did. Played twice just to make sure, it won't get played again, except perhaps for the title track.

A good reissue, still sounds fresh
Hadn't heard this for years. I'm an early Dylan fan really, but this is cool - the original All Along The watchtower alone makes it worth owning. Good Nashville session musicaians too.

How do you like your folk?

Anne had a great voice, and performed traditional folk. It's largely unaccompanied, so if you don't like the thought of an hour of just a voice, this isn't for you. On the other hand, if you love a crystal clear voice, it most certainly is. Beautiful if it's your sort of thing.
