The Blue Dahlia
Classic Film Noir starring Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake. A Navy Lt.Commander comes home from the war to find his wife with another man and discovers his son died in a car crash due to his drunken wife. He leaves, throwing his gun on a chair and by morning she is dead and he is a wanted man. In one way it's a who dunnit but in another way everyone is guilty and the hard boiled criminal activities of virtually everyone in this movie leave you guessing and hoping right to the end. Rightly judged as a top example of the Noir Genre with great performances from the leads and support including William Bendix as a war veteran pal who can't control his temper because of his wounds. Great stuff.
