we are the above average pipettes

Bought this album on the the strength of one of those tie-ins ("people who bought this music also bought The Pipettes").The track i checked out was called 'Judy'.The 30 sec. sample was Hot!.. enough to convince me to buy the album.60's Girl Group influenced (see Shangri-La's, Chiffons).They quote Phil Spector as an influence, but it's more modern than the Ramones 'Baby i love you'. Remember Tracey Ullman, the comedy actress (in 3 of a kind with Lenny Henry) who released an album in the late 80's(?)"My Guys Mad At Me"(Madness Cover)a hit single..well if she had 2 sisters,and one of them was Debbie Harry of 'Blondie'..Get to the point. 3 Supermodels drag the 60's Girl sound through Glam/Punk/Disco/and Hip-Hop.Great videos, Great Singles,album a little too padded out/reliant on singles to sell well.A band with great potential,in my(humble) opinion the album was released shortly before all the songs were ready(a few tracks are a bit forgettable?,they can do it,but give them space to do it at their own pace..(naughty record companys)
