Very witty but serious political narrative
Every chapter has a witty twist of humour. Alan McCombes has produced an enthralling account of the rise and fall of Tommy Sheridan, the Scottish socialist who lead the defeat of the Poll Tax. The rise of the Scottish Socialist Party is dramatic, with 6 MSPs elected. Just as the SSP becomes Europes most successful far-Left movement, catastophe strikes through Tommy's extra-marital activities in seedy swinger joints in Manchester and elsewhere.
Fatally, Tommy denies the allegations, expecting his comrades to lie to the Courts to support his ego-maniac libel case against Rupert Murdoch's News of the World. Despite winning the case, there is ample evidence for the Court decision to be challenged and a perjury case ensues. Gripping stuff from start to beginning and it is essential reading for anyone interested in politics, even moreso for anyone with an affinity for the labour movement. Alan McCombes is a world-class writer whose skills were honed in his editorial capacity during his SSP tenure. Very funny but serious!

Great value and quality!
Far better value buying in greater quantities, save on postage. More importantly, avoid poor quality wines from cork bungs which deteriorate
