Movie version of the greatest American play
Unforgettable film-adaption of the best play written by an American playwright--and our greatest playwright at that, Eugene O'Neill. All of the actors in this movie version of the play are nothing short of superb!

Outstanding, featuring superb acting, highly entertaining
One of the best productions ever to appear on PBS's Masterpiece Theater. This 4-disc series is based on the novels of Robert Graves, which were published in the 1930s, and tell the more intimate stories of the first four Roman emperors (Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula, and Claudius). The series provides a history lesson at the same time. Highly recommended!

I consider Lanzmann's "Shoah" the greatest Holocaust documentary ever produced. Viewing it should be required of anyone interested in the past.
"Shoah" documents a very dark chapter in human history. Only a misanthrope would consider it "entertaining." I also do not think of the "characters" in Lanzmann's film as "engaging." They are living witnesses who experienced many of the terrible events that transpired during the Holocaust. Lanzmann's documentary allows them to speak for themselves.
