Excellent Quality
Excellent build quality and optics. They passed the Leica test. As sharp and as bright as my Leica Trinovid's 8x42, but with better CA correction and a wider field of view. The reason I bought them was for the wide FOV as the Leica's narrow field is sometimes very apparent, and in some situations the yellow fringing is very obvious. The Talon's won't have the edge quality of lookalike (I think the Talon's look better) Swarovski's, but I think far too much emphasis is attached to edge quality. As long as there is no significant light loss to affect the view. Who looks at birds at the edge of the view? Also the Talon's are 5 times cheaper, and I think of better build quality, especially the rubber armouring. I've seen Swarovski's with horrendous bubbling and bulges all over the barrels. If you want a pair of Swarovski lookalikes with a bright, pin sharp central 50% image, and super smooth focussing, you'd better hurry as there can't be many pairs left. I have the 10x42's as well, and they are awesome too.
