The book was in very good condition. In fact, it's looked new. Good story too. It took 100 pages to set the scene and introduce the characters. Then it shifted up a gear and revved into action.

A decent read.

Not as elegant as Chandler - not as resplendent with similes - but very readable. I've ordered another couple of his novels.

Quality Prose, Quality Prose.

The book appeared to be brand new. This is the third book I've read by Ross MacDonald. I enjoyed The Moving Target. I enjoyed The Galton Case even more. But The Drowning Pool is the best written of the three.
