Robust with a luxury feel

An excellent tool.

The Rhyas butane gas soldering iron is a well engineered product. It is light in the hand and all the controls can be operated with the thumb and gas ignition is instant. I have used it outside for soldering where portability and variable temperature control is needed. The hot air mode proved very effective on heat shrink sleeving. The tool with its selection of tips allowed me to repair plastic water barrels fusing together "welding" cracks and inserting patches where pipe fittings had been removed. I had no problem with the amount of gas it holds, a larger reservoir would make it too bulky, it takes just three seconds to recharge. The Rhyas butane iron is a useful addition to any professional or DIYer's tool box, I thoroughly recommend it.
