Grossly underrated console. Backwards-compatibility powerhouse!
3 of 5 found this helpful Vast library of great Wii U and Wii games. Easy software aftermarket modifications for homebrew and Gamecube compatibility. Paired up with a USB-Gamecube adapter, this can play pretty much every Nintendo game released before the Switch.

Simple, functional, and cost-effective
Cheap, fits in any full-size expresscard slot, all 3 USB3 ports seem to work at full speed (certainly enough for multiple disks, I use mains-powered 3.5" ones).
Doesn't provide much power, but that's to be expected from such a device. Works with mice and can trickle-charge my phone, but don't expect it to power a 2.5" hard disk without an external powered hub.
Works out-of-the-box in most GNU/Linux setups, just make sure you haven't disabled expresscard in your BIOS!
Untested by me Windows, but I know someone with a cosmetically identical device which works just fine.
Recommended product! Though, I'd make 100% sure that you don't actually need the smaller cards with 2 ports, based on the size of your expresscard slot. Curiously, the 12" thinkpads have the large slot, and the 14" ones the small slot!
