Excellent dual mono integrated amplifier
Excellent amp from Teac Reference Series circa 2005.
Massive toroidal power supply generates a decent 50 watts into 8 ohm speakers.
Each channel has its own discrete amp circuit. Hence dual mono description. Quite rare at this price point.
Excellent phono stage but the icing on the cake is the headphone output. This really sings on vinyl. Better than the Audiolab 8000A.
Pick up a good one and you’ll be grinning ear to ear!

Oppo BDP-83SE Nuforce Edition Review
This is a superb product. First, a bit of background. I have a decent Arcam/Quad HT setup but lack HDMI as an input for audio. Still, the Arcam AVR300 amp is pretty good and sounds great. The Oppo BDP83SE Nuforce Edition appealed to me because of the Sabre DAC chip and dedicated 7.1 analogue outs. This connects directly via some Chord interconnects to the DVD-A inputs on the Arcam. The Oppo allows for speaker tweaking on board and I managed to set it up quite easily.
Arcam have had their new AVR 600 amp on the market for about 18 months now. It decodes all the HD audio codecs and has generated some excellent reviews. But it costs £3500 and this is way more than I can afford right now.
I'd been introduced to the delights of the Nuforce product line through their HDP Icon desktop USB DAC and preamp and been stunned by its silky smooth music reproduction and ability to decode up to 24/192 audio. I was curious to see what else Nuforce had to offer because I was sure I was not getting the best from my Sony BD player with analogue outs. My reaction on first hearing was surprise and awe. I could not believe the detail, separation and sense of space around the instruments. Some reviewers have described this player's musicality and liquid like smoothness. I know exactly what they mean. I can't drag myself away from this thing. While there is no doubt that picture quality is superb this particular model is all about audio over the analogue outputs. There is a real sense of almost being there. I listen to a lot of live concerts and the sense of realism is breathtaking. I'm delighted and thrilled to have it as part of my kit. It really does play any disk format you can throw at it. in addition I've been feeding it LPCM from Foobar over the network and this sounds amazing too.
Sure the £900 I paid for this thing it a lot of money but from my perspective it means that I won't have to upgrade the rest of the kit for years now because this allows me to enjoy the lossless codecs in all their glory. Additionally, the original price was £1300, so I really have a bit of a bargain. If you have an older surround amp of decent quality and want to hear the best than modern audio codecs have to offer look no further than this superb product. Hard to beat this level of functionality and musicality at the price. Very, very highly recommended!
