Spark Gulf Mirage
That Spark chose to model the final incarnation of the Gulf Mirage should come as no surprise as it fits very well in their Le Mans range.
The model is typical Spark in that it is correct in every detail. The shape, paint colour, interior and exterior features are perfect. It’s a great model and a great investment as well.

CMR 1971 Porsche 917 LH
It was at their third attempt that Porsche produced a long tail version of their 917 that didn’t try to kill its driver. In fact, the 1971 Le Mans car was ‘hands off the wheel’ stable while barrelling down the Mulsanne at an astonishing 238 mph. It also broke 150mph at four other points on the circuit.
CMR make excellent model cars and this release is no exception. The shape and proportions are perfect and as such makes a perfect addition to any collection.
But did the car achieve its primary goal of winning Le Mans in 1971? I’m afraid not. Porsche’s 1970 and 1971 victories were delivered by the standard short tail 917. The super slippery cars they built for the race never won, despite being immensely fast. All 3 LHs retired in 1971 with various over heating and structural issues caused by the over efficiency of their low drag body work.

IXO 1/18 1982 Group B Audi Quattro
IXO are mid price range producer of excellent diecast models and their 1982 Group B Quattro is a worthwhile addition to any collection.
This version comes with the basic colour scheme but allows you to add after market transfers to present any one of that years competitors.
The car is faithfully reproduced and since buying it I have added a Ford Escort and Lancia Stratos to my collection. You won’t be disappointed with an IXO model.
