Quality service kit
The kit comprises quality components that are a complete match for the oem items they replace. As far as my experience goes, this is kit is the best available and worth the little extra it costs over cheaper "no-brand" alternatives.

Nearly a perfect replacement
I have a three cup stainless steel La Cafetiere Thermique, which I have had for a number of years. The gauze on this replacement seems firmer and stronger than the original and the retaining plate is identical. The base plate, on the other hand, is thinner and flatter than the orginal and does not screw onto the plunger as deeply, but so far seems to work just as well

Provides good coverage and looks impressive even without a top coat.
2 of 3 found this helpful I'm surprised this product isn't more widely available, since it is easy to work with and covers well with a single coat. Unlike Hammerite's "straight to metal" paint products it is not prone to runs, provided the brush is not overlloaded. The shade of matt grey is accurately represented on the tin and looks good just as is. My only gripe is that it does not appear to be produced in tins larger than 250ml capacity - for my particular application I required a litre, so buying that quantity in 4 small tins was more expensive than need be. Even so, I would recommend the product.
