Another excellent book from Steve Chilton about women in the hill running scene.
Steve Chilton has already written several books on hill and fell running and I particularly liked his first one - "It's a Hill, Get over it.." This one details the gradual acceptance and eventual welcoming of women into the hill running scene and has sections where several top class hill runners tell about their eraly experiences and develop the thread through to their participation in World Mountain Racing Trials.

An important and readable autobiography
It is a very good book about a proper journalist who rose from humble beginnings to mixing with the top politicians. I was looking for information about his father who was a first class harrier in the opening years of the 20th century - he ran in the first two cross-country internationals ever held - and did get a fair bit about him after his running days were over. Could have done with more about him but what there was added quite a bit o my knowledge. I'd recommend this book to anyone interested in journalism or the politics of the second half of the 20th century without hesitation.

Chief Seattles' Statement
The books were wanted as a starting point for a discussion with two late teenagers. Although almost certainly not by Chief Seattle, they dealt with the man/nature relationship in a way that got the conversation started.
