A Good Intro to Perforance for early grades
Although the tunes are mostly simple enough the y manage to include a few rhythm patterns, playing styles, some dynamics ,staccato so the starting player can hear how these sound. Each score is played twice on the cd, once slower with clarinet and then at performance speed with just the accompaniment. It also has a piano score
I was surprised at how little instruction there is, this is just a "pieces" book for the starter rather than a full tutor book.
The value of the book lies in its cd accompayment of cheerful and simple tunes, a bit unusual for this level.

All clarinettists should be familiar with this book
This is a great book by Jack Brymer who gives us an insight to the mind of a world class musician.
It covers the history of the instrument and overcoming its various technical difficulties, but its his analysis of the responses over the clarinet compass and his consideration of a sample passage which stand out.
Its not a beginners book, nor a clarinet system manual
