The original edition
It’s just slightly shorter than the revisions and reads with an immediacy. This is the Christian classic on being happy in the Lord, and establishes its thesis as: the purpose of man is to glorify God by enjoying Him forever. God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in Him. Removing the aspect of a work-based salvation, this book emphasizes how God wants us to delight in Him in every aspect of our life and being.
