Pretty good.
Does the job though not as good as previous slightly smaller model.

Without a sub, this one is the best.
4 of 4 found this helpful Bought this eventually on eBay at a time when there were very few in the country apart from the less popular silver ones.
Looking at reviews of all the alternatives to improve the 'not all that bad' sound of our new Samsung TV this one seemed easily the best of those without a separate sub-woofer box. Our 2nd choice would have been the very neat looking Bose but many seemed to think it sounded boomy and bemoaned the lack of any controls to the bass sound, especially for such a relatively expensive sound bar.
We found the Yamaha excellent. It needed a week or so of use to reach it's best. We have the bass turned up to max and both find that just about perfect with excellent overall sound, not exactly Hifi, but brilliant for the money. The other gadgety sound features do work although they are not that impressive.
The signal from our remote seemed to access the TV over the top of the Yamaha with no problem once we removed the neat little feet as suggested by Yamaha, so we did not need the IR repeater feature clever though it is.
The Yamaha sound bar is very well designed and presented, and quite well constructed, looks good, and we are really pleased with it. The only drawback is the high gloss finish which in black is a bit of a pain to keep looking clean, dust, and smear free.
