Disappointed!
1 of 1 found this helpful Having read the book I assumed it would translate into a fast moving, well made, visually dynamic film. Of course it did!
BUT in my opinion, it lacked attention to detail, depth and appeared somewhat disjointed. But how many films improve on the original book? Not many.
This book is long, multi-layered, with great attention paid to the interpretation of the complex codes. I believe these were not fully explained in the film.
To achieve this in a two-hour movie would be asking the impossible and frankly, if I had not read the book in advance, I would have failed to fathom much the plot!
In addition, the two central characters were somewhat shallow in their fictional roles, characterisation rather weak and their evolving personal relationship neither convincing nor credible.
Not enough time was spent on the opening sequence of the discovery of
curator's murder with its string of oblique codes. It was neither grizzly or graphic enough for my liking!
There were a few unnecessary changes toward the finish of the film which too felt rushed.
The result was a fairly entertaining film which missed the boat.

Reliable and easy to install
Very pleased that this aerial picked up nearly all channels on freeview. The TV picture is perfect, signal strong.
It simply has to be plugged in to socket and attached by hook provided to a wall or high-up shelf.
Had we not discovered this aerial through a consumer recommendation magazine, we would have had to pay out for an aerial installer at great expense.
We live in the sticks and the nearest transmitter is about 24 miles away, so are delighted this works and so are our guests, who now have a working HD TV in their bedroom.

Best of the best
The combination of frank Sinatra, backed by Nelson Riddle and song writer
Cole Porter produces team that is hard to top.
Mostly recorded in the 1950's, this is Sinatra at his peak with rich full backing, and genuine original recordings of these tunes.
The choice of songs includes several of the more sophisticated ballards including 2 beautiful and underrated tunes from 'High Society'.
However, the beat is generally up tempo swing. Sound recording, though remastered is obviously not in today's class but having tweaked my favourites in 'Audacity', the base/treble balance and depth of instrumental is acceptable.
With 16 tracks, this is excellent value for Sinatra fans.
