The K&N filter has really done its job well on my Yamaha XT 600 and now it's good for another go...
I switched to the K&N filter on my motorcycle appr 25.000 km ago, though being a little sceptical about it's ability to keep the intake air clean. During the 25.000 km I did not experience any power loss at all as would occur with the original paper filters after about 10.000 km due to filter clogging. When opening the air filter and intake box it was evident the filter has also managed to keep the air absolutely clean. No trace of dust inside the filter box. The dirty side of the filter however revealed the filter was in need of cleaning which again must be followed by recharging by using K&N filter oil. So I decided to purchase the K&N fluids and follow the manufacturers instruction to the point. Now the filter appears just as good as new and it didn't take much of the cleanser and oil bottles to fully restore it. Without any further costs the filter will definitely last the lifetime of my bike...
