The downside?

The downside is it includes male vocal on the opening tracks of disc 1. Also much of disk 3 and 4 are the arrangments for strings!? If you like it fine, if not its a question of editing out and making a new CD, hence the 4 star rating. Very good remastering.

beautiful performance, but not as rich as a digital recording.

The Nash and Domus, both play beautifully and there is little to tell them apart. The sound balance is again similar in both accounts, which is remastered analogue tape.

previous standard guide

The Craig Robson guide has superseded this book, but I still like it. The illustrations are darker than the Robson and chrome yellow is used rather than lemon. The text and distribution diagram is excellent. It is now out of print, but I managed to buy a 'nearly new condition' copy........superb.
