Egg slicer (mushroom, tomato kitchen chopper) review
If this product is used STRICTLY for SLICING eggs, then it is great. The thin wires can handle slicing a hard boiled egg (with the shell removed, of course). But it is also advertised as being able to slice mushrooms and tomato's, which is not true as the wires are much too thin, much too flimsy for such tasks. It is also NOT a chopper, and should NOT be advertised or sold as such. If, however, the thin wires were replaced with blades (as the plastic versions have blades and not wires-but the plastic base breaks easily), the product would be great and could slice through eggs, mushrooms tomato's etc... In other words, combine the stainless steel base of this product with the blades (of the plastic product) and you will have a great, longer lasting effective egg, mushroom, tomato, boiled potato (you get the picture) slicer. Cheers!
