Need to be sure what you are buying. This is a router, which splits the internet connection in various directions, but NOT a modem which connects to the outside world via the phone connection.You will need another unit to do that but this can be added to this to split the signal to various devices. Comes with an instruction book which explains this and how to connect everything together.
