Wish I Knew the Problem. . .

Purchased this to replace original drive that no longer writes. This drive says it's a DVD RW but in device manager it says it is a CD ROM and it does not burn onto a DVD at all. To test this issue, as there are online fixes for DVD drives registering as CD ROMs in error, I tested the drive to see if it would write to a CD-R.There was no problem writing to a CD-R, but I wasn't looking to purchase a CD-R burner, but a DVD-R burner. So, I will be sending it back. Also, the drive did not fit exactly as the original one did, so I doubt this is actually for the same computer. Sucks I have to go back and try to locate a non-refurb product now.

Perfect

Perfect replacement for OEM drive that up and died on me. Perfect fit, perfect functioning after opening and closing a couple of times. (Like a new recliner).
