Very short test leads are useful
For some reason very short test leads are not common, though they are very useful in many cases - no long cables to get in the way, lower inductance, stray capacitance, and resistance, desirable when measuring, for example, ESR. These leads are useful in those cases. They have alligator clips, soldered on rather than simply twisted on as in some cheap cables. They have banana connectors with an insulated sleeve, as supported by most multimeters. The sleeve prevents them from fitting into a simple banana socket (as in my ESR meter), but it is very easy to cut it off. For my purposes an unsleeved connector would save having to cut the sleeve off, but I couldn't find one.

Specifically for maximum sound from USB power
2 of 2 found this helpful These speakers were originally sold for about £90. As speakers, when compared with mains-powered ones, they are not worth that price for the sound quality and volume they deliver, but they have a clever feature: an unusual circuit that enables them to deliver surprisingly loud sound using a USB port for both power and signal. If you want the best sound, use mains-powered speakers. If you want portable use with a single cable the FSB-1 is worth considering, particularly at the lower prices often found, Unlike Bluetooth speakers there is no battery - the usual problem of needing to use something and finding its battery is dead can't happen. So 5 stars for its particular niche, rather than as a general-purpose speaker.
