Rover 75 slow speed fan resistor - another 'solution' if resistor can be accessed without taking bumper off.

For those owners of the Rover 75's with the annoying failed resistor problem giving the failure of the slow speed fan for air con, this is a simpler solution to the 'bumper off and using the kit job' to fix it. Having only replaced the fan unit 12 months ago after it caught fire? the new resistor failed which produces the on/off high speed fan sympton with air con selected. The resistor is usually accessable from under the front of teh car and sits inside the fan housing. I have tried a number of the gold resistors but found they would fail after a week or less. The key is this little resistor seems better at getting rid of its own heat but more importantly it is, as the advert describes able to cope with the vibration which would come from normal vehicle running. Interestingly the Rover replacement resistor (which fails) is 30 times more expensive than this one which fingers corssed has been working through the summer for 7 weeks now. I have ordered some more as spares but hope not to need them!
