However in less than a month use the spine backing is cracking. I'm unsure if this is just a faulty one off item or an inherent fault with the product. It will clearly worsen as is proving already within the short term of ownership. I have sent a communication to the seller about this faulty item but sadly that seems to have been ignored. Does this therefore highlight this sellers true credentials.

Good Quality and Value that lasts the test of time.
Existing lasted 20 years so gave excellent service. This is why I returned to the original manufacturer as I hope the new hinges last equally as long as they have proved to be very good quality.

Worth the Money
As an engineer I can confirm they are worth the money. I would have give 5 stars had the quality been better. By this I means the shocks look like they will do the job but the quality of finish of the product is not exactly the best. There are sharp edges that could cut you so be careful during handling. They are definitely a pattern product and not a genuine part. There was not even a manufacturers coded part number stamped on it. However the supplier "quite rightly" listed all models they were suitable for and mine (Miele W836) fitted as promised. Whether they last the distance till we change the machine one can only wait and see (My Miele is 15 years old) So other than preplace the fuse and relay that seems to blow on the main board and at the same time recommended Shocks then I have no complaint with the machine. Fingers crossed these shocks will last at least 5 years so for the price they are worth buying.
