The sensible buy for the enthusiast.
4 of 4 found this helpful I've had loads of radios over the last 20+ years: JRCs, RACALs, AORs, ICOMs, just all sorts. The S2000 perforrms very well on its whip antenna, and its huge MW ferrite bar antenna is much better, in side to side comparison with an AOR AR8600MK2 and AOR LA400 loop antenna combo. This radio is super intuitive, I've still not opened the manual. It's old school with buttons for individual functions, unlike the AR8600MK2 that I've sold since get this. The feel of the tuning knob reminds me of those on much dearer sets. This is THE LW/MW/SW AM/SSB/FM set to get. I just wish I knew about this earlier, I'd have more money in the bank, oh, the audio is excellent.
